Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

There's a weird thing with me (and others of you right? I'm not actually weird, I mean not literally) where I forget the normal proportions of a person's body and feel surprised when I see them.
Like... I feel very small. But not in a good way, not skinny small. Like. I'll see somebody and be shocked by how statue-esque and majestic they are, even if they are my height/size or shorter still.
I know in reality I'm a little chubb but also with a small frame and extremely short. But I feel like a teeny little shrimp! Other peoples' limbs seem miles longer than mine- impossibly so- even if they are only several inches longer at best, the arms, the legs, or the whole entire person.
It's mostly the limbs, they seem to go on forever with other people. It's like there are giants and giantesses roaming the earth in their glory, and I'm perspective-ly shrunken. I can't deny the truth that I see, that there is little variation in human proportions. But my mind tells me differently than what I'm perceiving.
Does this happen to you?
(this happens when I'm just normal mood and personality-wise, too. It's a constant.)

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Body image seems to be a big issue with most BP people .
It's not really an image issue though! I have those too- but they're completely separate. Mostly residual ED and gender dysphoria.
Maybe it stems from seeing myself as lesser, but I don't think it does.
Nini- :c You seem very tall. I have a female cousin a couple years my senior who's over 6 feet. It's actually less of an issue with people I see often.
I guess I should put it in different terms. Other peoples' bodies and often facial structure seems foreign to me, like I'm observing an alien race from a detached point of view. Idk.
Presh- ]: Well. I'm sorry. I'm sure you're very lovely. Maybe you should try looking a little bit more until it's not so bad. For anything more extreme than that I would maybe ask a professional Idk. I have a few ideas but I'm far from certified and so they probably aren't your best bet.
Has it always been that way though? :c
Weight loss is gradual, especially for the wearer (or should I say shedder?), so it doesn't show up as apparently. If someone hasn't seen you in a minute, there's a big difference. If you lose a little every day, it doesn't look very much different.
You might look at yourself in the mirror one day and suddenly notice the huge difference, though!
I used to hate my face specifically so much I researched plastic surgery costs at age 14 ish, and how to afford it all for myself as soon as possible. Yet here I am at 20. Lol. Looool.
I sorta felt like a 'butterface' you know- "It's all good- but her face...". I think I reached a point where I couldn't possibly hate it any more than I did and I don't usually go that low anymore.
Now I see facial structure and body structure more as architecture. I can sit there and stare at my glaring grossness and think of it as a building. It's transferred into the way I see other people, too, in ways. Even though there's still the detachment trippiness.
Absolute body positivity has done wonders for me, too. But honestly it was mostly me realizing that those who make any sort of justification for fatophobia are miserable, bitter people, and I want nothing to do with them, or their bullshit 'logic'. Literally all bodies are worthy and wonderful, and any philosophy which seeks to destroy that notion is rotten to the core, and nothing to be taken seriously.
I'm still doing it. New sweats will not stay up on me. I just see myself as HUGE and needing to lose a few.
Too bad we can't swap Voltaire. I could give you some of my big and you could give me some of your small. We would be perfect then.
