Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Now I get my injection every fortnight without fail...and am able to live somewhat of a life I thought I could live.
Bipolar is very individual - some people get on meds and everything is ok, others need to swap around a bit (most it seems) and a minority have ongoing problems.
Also when you are depressed hope is a commodity in short supply, whether that is a realistic assessment of the situation or a symptom of the depression - I wouldn't want people to think that if they are depressed and a bit negative they should not post.
One of the great strengths of this board is the diversity of experience.
Some people have it worse then others and this can lead to terrible consequences..
Ive never seen anyone post saying to another to give up hope or you can't do it.. Ive seen the OP say how terribly they feel and hopeless..the replies may be that "Im feeling that way to".. .in order to say "Im getting what you're saying and talking about"... but most do try and encourage from what Ive seen..
Depression can suck the life out of you and I hear you as well crystal...Encouragement is always a good thing..x
I refused to take this for an answer and even though I am low income and couldn't afford it, I became my own advocate. My parents have become VERY supportive of my mental health and I told them what was going on and what the pdoc said to me. I was hysterical. They came up with the solution, that if I could find another pdoc that I liked, they would pay for it because they hated seeing being treated this way.
I found a psychomarmacologist in the phone book. I made an appt and have been with him ever since. He has been life changing in my opinion. He has put me on meds that noone has ever tried before and I am the most stable I have been in years!!! He's the greatest doc I have EVER had.
Im glad I didn't take NO for an answer and kept pushing. Sometimes, being told I can't just pissed me off even more and makes me want to prove everyone wrong!
Thanks for the post!!
For myself nothing worked and yes, I went through A-Z in the trial error med combo( I know-blah, blah, blah LOL!)- I have not quit but I chose to stop the meds and I accept the risks invoved with doing so- Everyone is different and I would never tell someone to not take meds or be anything other than supportive- Nor would I ridicule someone for not taking meds-
Whenever there is a question posed to anyone who is off meds I will respond with my experience and that I don't think it's necessarily the right thing to go without meds- It's a crap shoot for me and yet others may be fine. I always say its a personal decision- Not to take lightly-
Getting Better? I'm not sure what that means but I know for me sometimes it's more managable. That is my reality-- I suppose you can use whatever term suits your situation but for me it is what it is and I will always support others no matter what treatment regimen they subscribe to-
I must have missed the posts you are referring to but I will agree it is a support group and I never liked the word can't either-
Oh and that's no horse $h!T, LOL! ;) Good post to serve as a reminder to be aware of what and how we say things, it is important- Hoping all to have a nice day!
there are many reasons why people feel as if they just can't do anything more, and it is not our place to judge, just to support.
I always encourage people here on DS, but sometimes there is a reality that is not what we want to hear.
Please forgive me crystal, please?
"The only thing I'm offended by is the bashing of spelling and grammar in this post."
That's all I could think of when I read it. I'm sorry, crystal, please don't think I'm trying to pick on you. It made me LOL but I thought it was mean - even though I'm not trying to be mean, it just reads as mean without my tone of voice carrying the message.
