Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Hi Everyone, I am new to this group, but not new to daily strength.
I am in a relationship with someone who is bi-polar. He is early in his treatment and medications. I have done so much research on bi-polar as well being in a relationship with someone who is bi-polar and I am committed to making this work.
I am not sure if this is the board to come to but was looking to get some more information and further insight on relationships with someone with bi-polar. Is there a group for loved ones of people with bi-polar?
I understand that bi-polar is a mood disorder and that when a person in cycling and in a depressive mood or has anger it is not always directed at the person they are lashing out at. My question is, how do you communicate with that person when things are calmer about what happened? Obviously things are said by the person with BP that they don't mean, but it doesn't mean it doesn't hurt. Are there any effective techniques that work for you? What I don't want to do is create more stress.
Thank you for your time.

I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort. I am dealing with the paperwork following my father's death but it's not...

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!
