Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I've lived most of my life in a hypomanic or high state, it's what I am used to, I functioned quite well for many, many years that way. I was productive, whatever I set my mind up to do I did it......but the let downs I didn't take too kindly too, they would hit me like a ton of bricks and I would dwell over those let down for longer than normal periods of time, typical behavior among bipolars, or so I have been told.
I'm also a rapid cycler so I am up one day down the next and could really use some encouragement. Today I feel very tired, the only thing I really look forward to is sleeping at night because then I don't have to think about anything. I feel as though life has let me down in a huge way.....I am tearful, feeling hopeless, ugly and just plain shitty. I try to make my gratitude list each morning and look at the things I do have but I just feel so pathetic.
I have to talk to my therapist about what it is I am supposed to do when I am not feeling hypomanic because when I'm not hypo I'm just not happy....there is no inbetween it's hypo or nothing. wth?? Do any of you live like this too?? I know the routine push through it'll pass...any other suggestions?? I sure could use some here...thanks for reading.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

if i was doing a list for you, i would say:
you are an amazing artist and make gorgeous art (yes, looming IS art to me)
you are kind and supportive of people having trouble
you are a survivor of a disease that would wipe out a `normal' (ugh, i don't like that word) person.
ok, that's a start.....i could keep going.
thank you for being who you are, and i truly hope the dark passes quickly.
I wish I knew what to say that would be benifitual to you.
Your thyp should be able to shed some light on your situration & provide u with tools.
I have migrain from hell so bk to recliner I go.
X's
I'm not in this state often so I can't help in that way..
I'm so glad you're working with your therapist and seeing your doc.. I believe a med tweak is probably in order...
I hope you feel some peace soon my friend...xo
I appreciate everyone actually..*warmsmile*
Sword I think you hit the head on the nail......I know I have always had trouble living in the gray, this can't pass soon enough I swear!
so for today, I want to tell you - YOU ARE NOT ALONE : )
Maybe we both leaves this grey area Quickly....
I can't stand not being hypo. I would love to be "normal" but since I got sick with asthma and RA, I have lost that stage. When I was in RA remission for 11 days, I was normal. So a clue that autoimmune diseases are at the bottom of my bipolar. But what to do? The meds don't make me normal.
So I keep on doing the things that have worked. Yesterday, I was gray too. I finally went for a walk in the evening and it perked me up. I guess walking is going to be the new biking for a while, since I just dislocated the other knee yesterday. Well, it was damaged in the bike crash, but neglected, so it is finally telling me that it is hurt too.
Tats, I pray for something to change. Try some new things - like exercise, or meditation or anything that puts you in a different place. And gratitude for sure! Giving thanks is the best!
Ye gads! I think I feel the walls closing in on me!
I would be experimenting with new flavors of happiness.
But that is me. I am a texture freak. Love variety in all things.
Hope you find what works for you.
