Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Most young people feel misunderstood. I thought I was a pretty good mother but I am sure my adult children will say I had alot of flaws.
All I can say is that I did the best I could. What you are feeling might be perfectly normal for someone your age and then again, maybe not.
I don't know you or your situation so it's hard to tell.
I myself had a really awful childhood but most people would not believe me when I told them. I am 60+ years old now and I have gotten very tired of trying to make myself understood. It's exhausting so in that regard I know how you feel.
When I was 35 years old I was in group therapy for children of alcoholics. Talk therapy is what worked for me. I talked every Saturday for 1 1/2 years and a huge weight was lifted from my shoulders because the people I shared my story with understood where I was coming from. I feel that today I am doing well after having been on an emotional roller coaster most of my life.
I hope you can find someone to talk to or keep coming back here.
