How do you get rid of them? I haven't slept well except maybe a few nights in about two weeks.
I crashed around 10 maybe. I'm not sure how to describe the dream, but I've had it before. I was in my house, but all the rooms were dark. Post-apocalyptic almost, like the place had been dark and abandoned for a long time, and I was trying to get out. Like being a ghost, being in some sort of inter-dimensional hell. It felt so real. Living the feeling of despair, fear, desperation.
I think my room might be haunted but regardless, I don't think I'm going to get any solutions out of that theory, even if it might be true partially. Like, what would I do then, light some sage, chant mantras? That's not going to fix my physical health problems resulting from not sleeping, or the reason why my brain is prone to having this happen.
For a minute I thought about asking my ex because we dabbled in certain things and I trust he'd know what to do, how to assess a metaphysical situation. But our relationship was terrible and I feel a lot of hate towards him so that's out, basically. I don't want to use him for his vast knowledge, because that's rude, plus I don't want him getting the idea that I don't fucking hate him right now. There are others who claim to share the same beliefs, but they're charlatans and I can't deal with ingenuine-ness. I have a hard enough time taking these things seriously as-is since I gave it up a long time ago in favor of more practical solutions.
Has anyone had any success treating nightmares with Melatonin? Minipress? Fricking *anything*????
I'm going to go psychotic very soon and I can't stop this train from crashing. My days roll over and I do the same pointless tasks.
HOURS and hours of putting on makeup for no reason. Fixing my hair for no reason. Organizing one area for an hour and ignoring the rest of the room/house because I dread how long the ordeal would be with my OCD-worsened-by-insomnia doing it's thing.
I'll do anything, honestly. I have narcotic medicine that helps a person to sleep, but it doesn't matter. I just have nightmares and wake up a few hours later.
I need my life back and I need to not be a miniature psycho again for as long as I can hold it off...
I'm sorry for being such a whiner but I'm really desperate and not okay and nothing seems to help. I'll make more sense and sound less unintelligible when I've slept a few good nights in a row.

All I know is that cyproheptadene (sp?) didn't work - made me dream lucidly. And prazosin got me over a huge hurdle even if it did stop working. Sometimes, some people get more relief from one med than the other - have you tried these meds yet?
I'm so sorry - Nightmares are awful! And that's it for sleeping for the night for me, anyway. I hope you find a way past the nightmares. Good sleeping, Voltaire.

Narcotic pain meds have always kept me awake and caused bad dreams. Try Benadryl. It's over the counter and will not interfere with your other meds. Take it exactly by the directions.
Lack of sleep is a very dangerous time for me. I start losing it a little more each day with each sleepless night. Hope you can stop this before it gets any worse.
