All I know is that cyproheptadene (sp?) didn't work - made me dream lucidly. And prazosin got me over a huge hurdle even if it did stop working. Sometimes, some people get more relief from one med than the other - have you tried these meds yet?

Narcotic pain meds have always kept me awake and caused bad dreams. Try Benadryl. It's over the counter and will not interfere with your other meds. Take it exactly by the directions.
Lack of sleep is a very dangerous time for me. I start losing it a little more each day with each sleepless night. Hope you can stop this before it gets any worse.
