Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Hi everyone. I posted a while ago about lamotrigine, and I ended up having a reaction to it. I was prescribed latuda about 6 weeks ago, and started on 20mg for a month and was just upped to 40mg 2 weeks ago. my psychiatrist and I agreed that I seem to be very sensitive to drugs, and this confirmed it for me. The exhaustion is ridiculous after I take it, and I have also been in a depressive episode for a couple weeks, although I felt it rising into some sort of hypomania the past couple days, so I guess we will see about that.
Anyways, I am rambling, but I really just want to know if anyone is on latuda and what your experience with it was like. the 20 seemed like it worked a bit, but this 40 hasn't kicked in completely and I am not sure how to feel. I am trying to keep hope for it, and would like to hear some experiences.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I like the drug. It works well.
I also have bipolar 2 disorder. I am also very sensitive to medications. That makes things a bit more difficult, for both of us, unfortunately. Best wishes XO
Latuda is not an Anti-Depressant it's an Anti-Psychotic as is Olanzapine, Lamictal is an Anti-Seizure med. These are all types of Mood Stabilizers.
BiPolars's may have a mild Anti-Depressant in their med cocktail if they can tolerate them, many can't, but it's never the main Medication of their Cocktail.
