Trilafon is an Anti-psychotic med generally used to treat schizophrenia, but used off-label to treat other Major Mental Issues like BiPolar Disorder. I've not used it and it doesn't seem to have been used frequently yet, so it may be a newer drug coming into the BiPolar scene. I found some patient reviews that say it's pretty good at calming anger and anxiety issues, there are some "over-sleeping" side effects, but as we all know everyone reacts differently to these meds. It seemed like finding the correct dosage might be challenging, as it worked better in the beginning but as the body adjusted to it, the efficacy begin to wear off and dosage adjustments had to be made. I'd keep a diary on how quickly it works for you and when/if you notice any changes in the way it works.

Perphenazine actually ..... I was put on it to bring me out of a mixed state years ago and it worked wonderfully for me

There was a side effect that I had trouble with and was eventually taken off of it but it sure worked well for a mixed state

Suncloud, I couldn't find much on this, I guess Haldol and Thorazine made the popularity ranks more quickly than Trilafon, and these weren't RX'd as much on Out Patient basis' back in the day.

I guess the times are catching up and we're getting all the comforts of In-Patient psych care at home now days. Thanks for the info.
