I need to draw everyday and let my emotions out there. I'm not bad I'm just real emotional bc of my illness. My doc put me on fluoxetine yesterday. I haven't started it I'm scared to take it with pristiq the pharmists said its not good together and I'm supposed to take them in the mornings. I'm gonna have to go see my docs again tomorrow to ask about it they were supposed to call me back today and they didn't. I'm so scared of side effects. I hope it doesn't make me feel weird. Maybe it will help with anger outbursts my doc said it helps with crying spells which I've had a lot of

Those are both SSRI anti-depressants so that's a big surprise because most doctors won't give one, let alone two to someone with bipolar.

It might answer you implied question in your other post about anger outbursts - in fact maybe you wouldn't even need to be bipolar to have that reaction.

Are you on anything else?

If not the treatment you are getting could actually be alot worse than no treatment.

Actually Pristiq is an SNRI anti-depressant, and Prozac is an SSRI anti-depressant. Regardless, if your not on a mood stabilizer of some sort, it's really, really weird that a Pdoc would put you on 1 anti-depressant, much less 2.

You definitely need to talk with your Pdoc about being on these 2 meds together, esp. if you're not on a Mood Stabilizer. Anger, out of control emotions, hypomanic symptoms, manic symptoms all that could be caused by not being on a balanced med cocktail if your BiPolar.

I am sorry you haven't been feeling yourself- having more emotional outbursts! I think it's a good idea to talk to your doctor if you have any feelings of uneasiness in the medications. It sounds like you take good care of yourself in understanding the medications prescribed and having good coping skills!
Hope your doctor was helpful in explaining his rational or looking into a medication regime that would put you more at ease.

My doc recently put me on that. No bad side effects. If anything I feel perkier. But we all react don't fervently. Mine also said I have to take it in the morning.
