psychologists have just discovered a new disorder and 90% of them live around you.
Every one suffers with symptoms of this disorder from time to time but people who have the disorder suffer from it more than others.
A short list of symptoms :
Putting the milk in the cupboard and the cereal back in the fridge.
Looking in the opposite direction you are going. You will know if you do this too often by the amount of times you trip or run into objects.
Putting your clothes on inside out and backwards!
Using the opposite turn signal when driving.
Texting while driving.
turning the garden hose on and then looking inside the hose to see where the kink is.
Putting the car in reverse and the then stepping on the gas thinking it was in drive.
laughing at a joke and then asking the person to explain it because you didn't get it.
making politically incorrect jokes on camera or other recording device while holding a political position.
holding a political position in the first place.
stating the obvious all the time.
you discover trends long after they've gone out of style and then you run around showing it off to your friends who already knew about it and didn't realize that you didn't.
you think a mullet looks good. (Mullets do have a practical use but I assure you it has nothing to do with looking good.)
There are many more symptoms then listed above.
Sadly people have been profiting on this disorder in the entertainment business. TV shows often cast an individual with this disorder as a gag character. In fact the vast majority of modern tv shows use this disorder as a quick and cheap form of entertainment.
And out side of the entertainment industry the tolerance for this disorder is very low on average. Statistics show that people have more sympathy for house hold cockroaches than the sufferers of this disorder.
Professionals in the field are still deciding what the label will be. One label is Sudden Trouble Understanding Perceived Information Disorder, Intelligence Deficiency Is an Ordinary Trend, and Makes Obtuse Responses Occur Nonstop.
You may know some one who has this disorder. People suffering from this disorder may be causing you unnecessary stress. Denial is the first stage of this disorder. You can only help the sufferer realize they have it by constantly pointing out their symptoms.
Currently there is no cure for this disorder but preventative measures can be put in place to lessen the damage caused by it. The first measure against it is raising public awareness.
