Hi all,
I just started at DailyStrength today because I am extremely stressed out. I am here to vent a little and gain an understanding. I love my wife who has bipolar but isn't on treatment so much. She has the art of confusing me down perfectly. For her, it isn't even an art. It's too easy for her to push my buttons. I almost feel like she is narcissistic. She never answers my questions directly. I have to beg and carefully walk on egg shells to get even close to a response. When I do, she says I am being mean. She wanted me to choose between my family and her. I told her I couldn't and it was unfair for her to ask. I then asked her why she loved me. Of course she didn't answer right away. She has been telling me that I can't ask her that question. Help me understand why not?
So she finally answered it anyways and she says she loves me for all the reasons that she has been complaining about. Here's an example. She tells me some days that I don't spoil her enough. One of the reason she said she loved me is that I spoil her some days. On the days that she complains about me not spoiling her I try to tell her I do spoil her and she fights viciously that I don't. But now it's a reason that she loves me.
I don't know what to think. I tell her I'm confused and she tells me I'm being mean. It doesn't help that I feel like I'm bipolar or more likely paranoid schizophrenic. Thanks for hearing me vent.

I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort. I am dealing with the paperwork following my father's death but it's not...

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!

But to address the problem.
If you think you are bipolar, I suggest you make an appointment with a qualified psychiatrist, get an evaluation and go from there.
As for your wife's issues...if in fact she is bipolar and not medicated, there is not much you can do to force her .
My heart goes out to you.

it sounds more like a man woman thing. maybe you can sort it out and maybe you can't. men and women don't really always think the same about some stuff and that's the subject of endless books and the basis of most of the stand up comedy routines.
I don't know why you feel you are bipolar or schizophrenic - maybe that is something we can help with
Marital counseling too might help, if she'll agree to go, if not go to counseling urself, u need the support. NAMI is also helpful. Just google NAMI and u will find lots of info. hugs, tedi
