I am looking for some natural treatments alternatives for bipolar disorder II.
I have read about the Pfeiffer Treatment Center in Illinois. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this center or has been there?

I tried various things over the years before I was diagnosed, st john's wort, kav kava, ginseng etc. Nothing worked.

Now I'm on proper meds and much better.

They are listed under "questionable" on www.quackwatch.org. Vitamins canbe helpful but they can not replace medication for disorders as serious as Bipolar

I take kava if I am really on edge. Some of the more expensive kava aint worth a dime, in my opinion. I buy the cheap stuff! And vitamins ARE important. The anxiety we get just zaps all the good stuff from yor body. And sleep! So importante! If ya cant get it at nite, nap! ZZZ
I take Paxil ans Buspar and it does what its suppose to do most the time. Its just my ...menopause thats giving my meds a run for their money...ugh, ugh, ugh. xxx

Like fish says ...natural treatments are mostly a scam.
As are most of the Treatment Facilities.

Really the only way to deal with bipolar,is to find a good Pdoc and find a good med combo.

    Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner.  I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings.  But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!
