Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Hi friends, does anyone have any tips for managing the instant and reeling changes in our mood swings?
This morning I thought I was going to die from a panic attack, but then I had iced matcha from Starbucks (my favorite thing in the world) and now I can't stop shaking and rocking and I've joined two support groups and I'm sort of kind of happy and sort of kind of sad and achy; I have all this energy I don't know how to release but at the same time, there's no energy I have to do anything.
I have a lot of frenetic energy, do you guys experience it too? If so, how do you cope with this?

I went to an in-service given by a psychiatrist once that specialized in anxiety disorders and he said the first question he asked every new patient was what is their caffeine intake
Are you on meds now?.... If you're having much high anxiety and panic it might be a good time to talk with your doc??
Big hug.... xo
I ask because I have something similar when I wake up and it goes when I get up and my feeling is that when lying down my breathing isn't so good and it's that poor breathing that creates the panic. When I get up I breathe better and the feeling goes away.
I just recently talked to my therapist and my psychiatrist because interestingly enough my panic attacks were getting worse on the mood stabilizer and the SSRI so I'll start taking a higher dosage of my SSRI starting tomorrow.
Sounds like you are getting good advice on your meds.
It's always OK to pay attention to your breathing...Spring throws us all a lot of sudden ups and downs...
Glad you made it here!
