Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Glad you're coming down, and at least you found a good deed to do with the cards. Looking for the positives....
Hope the Lamictal helps you all the way down soon...

I think for some of us it becomes a conscious thought process to work backwards out of the manic or hypomanic episode...once we've done them for so long and get used to the routine of it.
I don't really consider mine harmful like they were when I was younger....10 - 15 years ago Manic meant not sleeping for weeks, being out all hours of the night driving around restless, forgetting a child at school because some stupid thing would catch my eye somewhere else, or losing 30 lbs in 3 weeks from literally forgetting food existed....last really bad one was in 2008. Hadn't slept in a couple weeks, hadn't eaten, I'd been manic for weeks, I dropped 45lbs in a month, got so Hypoglycemic I started randomly passing out. Passed out in the car on the way home one day, ran head on into a outcropping of boulders on the opposite side of the road at 65mph....don't remember much. Know they had to cut the roof off the car with the jaws of life to get me out, because the engine was sitting in the front seat...that car had a lot of airbags in it. Spent a few days in the hospital and have a good 2 week blank spot in my memory from the concussion. I don't miss those Manic Eps.
Now when I'm Manic its more like the Engine got revved up, no sleep for a few days, very busy, I get lots of work done and work nonstop. Shop more than normal for things I can live with out, nothing major. I usually catch myself 3 or 4 days in and its usually triggered around my really busy times like Tax Season and December/end of the year. Its like as I get busier and my brain has to focus on multiple things getting done at once it just kicks into faster and faster gears and falls into manic overdrive. But its a much more laid back type of Manic than it used to be, that's for sure.
