Sounds un-nerving.Not too much of a suggestion but my animals are always quiet when I feed them.Feed him perhaps?

He has been fed and watered.He's just walking around the house meowing his head off.It sounds more like a scream.

some cats are, to the cliche, 'talkers,' esp certain breeds, such as abyssinians...

my cat, for instance, 'tells' me all sorts of things...he says 'hello' when he's come back in the house (he has a cat door), he tells me when his food/water is running low, when he'd like some kitty crack (catnip), and when he wants to go outside but it's raining (for some reason he works under the delusion that i control the rain)...

his 'talking' really bugs my husband, but i just treat him like a person in this regard and answer back either with words or action or both...

maybe if you start talking back to your daughter's cat it will calm your nerves...

sorry...that's all i can think of besides your solution of kicking him out of the house...which, depending on where you live and what the cat is used to, may or may not be dangerous...

good luck...animals in the family can be hard to work into a bp lifestyle...

I would try to rehome him before I'd let anything happen to him.I don't want him to get hurt.He's just driving me crazy.

If she is an inside cat and never been fixed, she is probably in heat. Also if this is true will probably start ripping a the door and window with her claws. My sister cat tore up the curtains. Till they finally had her fixed.

Our cats are both big talkers. When they start driving me nuts I call a pause on whatever I'm doing and take about fifteen minutes to love the hell outta them. Just sit and rub them, play with them and whatnot until they've had enough.

Usually keeps them quiet for hours afterward.

that's another...some people who don't understand serious bp might disagree...but your sanity is paramount...i mean, would you rather rehome the cat or end up in a really bad bp cycle...? or even possibly club med...i mean, for you this cat could be the equivalent of water torture...bit by bit your it sounds like your sanity is being eaten away at...

for me...animals are like people, esp cats...so i'm good with their behavior...and ours is a doozey, believe me ::lol:: his name is "kung fu" and boy does he earn it...

but personal experience is so...well...personal...!! do what you have to do to stay in a good place...you can't be a good mom to your daughter if her cat triggers your bp into a superbad place, for instance...if that's what you think it will eventually lead to...

talk to your doc about yr nerves...maybe you need an antipsychotic or a higher dose of sth.

My cat kept doing that so I asked him what was up? He walked me to the water heater and showed me a black widdow. I killed it and he was fine maybe he is trying to tell you something.

abandoning and rehoming are two different things...but you're right about the daughter's likely attachment, lou2...hence...very tricky...ugh. xx, sL

not that rehoming should be taken lightly either...but neither should one's sanity...don't know if upping meds would 'cure' a super talkative cat...

interesting story, tatsel...!! i don't know if my cat is a lassie like that...but he sure knows what HE wants and isn't afraid to tell me...!!

Yeah, but increased meds actually has made me more chill about things when super-nervy in past...antipsychotics can do that..Whatever!
