I did research and I am not sure if anything is safe for cats. I am more of a dog person. I really don't like cats, except this one. I am not even sure she is in pain and not just mental.

She keeps attacking herself, it seems directed at her tail. She got me worry. It started last night- then she seems fine. but she been doing it again. We are bring it to the attention of his mother. I told her last night, but no one believed me. They thought I was crazy.

Now that her son seen it, she'll listen to him.

There are no visible wounds. We picked her up and checked and checked for sore spots and couldn't find anything.

I am leading towards pain because this isn't her normal behavior by far.

I dont know, She just looked at her tail and freaked out. Would a gas leak make cats act crazy? or something in the air. These new houses seems to have issue with gas leaks. I've seen fire trucks on my road for this numerous times last year, and one time, we had to leave our house for almost 3 hrs, due to a gas leak.

I know people have heard about aspirin being fatal. IT"s NOT true. I work ( vet asst.)in a feline practice. I will not make any recommendations for I am NOT a Vet. I will say that There is a safe dose of baby aspirin and only your Vet can say. Aspirin in cats last 48-72 hours so you do NOT dose any more frequently. Yes there are Vets who will say that aspirin is not safe. When used wrong it isn't.

if you've thoroughly examined the cat and put pressure on the tail and there is nothing noticable or nothing that makes the cat react in pain, i would say the cat is acting like a weird-o cat, as they sometimes do, and practicing it's stalking/pouncing skills on it's own tail.

If she is itchy due to allergies or flea bites ( don't know if she has them or her history) they will sometimes run around , stop and chew at themselves. Without more info it's hard to say.

that isnt good. sorry about your cat.. good thing there is a vet tech around.. let us know how it turns out. my cat had a thing on his face and i was so worried, then it exploded on my tile, fuckin gross.. he was fine in the end.

Also they can be uncomfortable if anal glands are full or abcessed etc...Can be anything. I am not a tech, I am an assist. 12 years in.

I was also going to say anal glands. Does she smell? Also could be worms.
