its horrible when I get into manic depression, I constantly think about suicide all the time but then I think about all my dreams to become successful.

Using lithium took mania out of my life and I recommend it.

My meds pretty much keep mania at bay but from time to time I still have episodes. I don't think of suicide when manic but during depression it is often all I can focus on. tommy is right lithium is a miracle drug for most and definitely can keep mania away but I had bad side effects and can't take it. I hope you can find some peace and feel successful for a change. Don't let this disorder win because we all have potential to be stable and great!! Hugs.

Meds definitely help me. Suicidal thoughts and impulses have always accompanied my depression. It sucks. Bad. But another thing that helped me immensely is having a trusted therapist. It helps to get the bad stuff out with someone who understands. Meds and therapy. They really help

It can be confusing for sure sweetie.... Big hug for you... Finding the right meds along with some coping skills and tools really helped me a great deal... Also deciding to take suicide off of the table made a difference ... So I accepted that I would have the thoughts however that doesn't mean I have to act on them....xo
