Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I got my mom signed up on this site because she said she wanted to learn about what I have and help me. She has been on twice made one friend and doesn't do anything to learn about the disorder. What's the purpose of signing her up?

You can't "make" her do the things that you think will teach her more about you. Unfortunately... you can take a horse to water, but ya can't make him drink it. Perhaps because she loves you so much, ... she's in denial of sorts for you?

She is the one that wanted me to set her up with an account cuz she sees how much this site is helping me out. But she says one thing and does another and then doesn't understand why I get mad. Don't say you want to understand my bipolar if you don't, it's that simple.

She's got her own issues to deal with...give her a chance.

Well, this is a support site. It's not really a site for her if she wants to just learn about being bipolar. I know you need a lot and quickly, but give your mom credit for trying. She may need a site where there are more people she can identify with, meaning not bipolar, but supporters, or an educational site - it doesn't have to be a community. Try a book.

I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
