Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Part XVI...Since getting out of hospital in the Philippines, I have made a dramatic recovery, although most of this is due to myself getting back on my normal dose of medication, but also for the support and the people in my life that stood by me during this traumatic time.
When people see me sick, if they are just a "fair weather" friend I get put in the "toxic" pile that people generally throw out. Its because of this I have had to move on and start a new life every time I have had a major episode. But not anymore.
I am now married, and my wife has proven how devoted she is to me. I thank God she stuck by me and can now see me for who I am, and not the illness. Her family also supported me and it really does feel like I have gained a new family through my wife, and I really feel that sense of security from them.
My parents were true to me too and did what they could from a distance, and my sister also, I know they care, its does scare them when I'm unwell for even my own mother will say that when I'm unwell I'm not the person they know and trust.
All that put aside, I'm now fully recovered from my last episode, weeks before I thought I would come to a "normal" state of mind.
It is mothers day today and my wife and I went to Mama' place for lunch. We took photos and laughed and made jokes, not one of them treating me any differently. Mama has been guiding her daughter, urging her not to leave me and to stand by me (I am her husband after all). Mama has been doing our laundry and basically been caring for us whist we stay in Transient accommodation, about 20 minutes from where she lives. We are due for our big flight together to Australia next week. I just want to make a special note thanking her, and I promise to look after her daughter whilst we make a new life in Australia.
I want to also thank my Mum, and wish her a very happy mothers day. She gave birth to me, raised me, and seen me go through all 40 years of my life and basically been there for almost every hospitalization I have had. She is also a reader of my blog, and Mum when you read this, just know I love you very much and miss you. Its been 3 months now since I left Australia but I will be seeing you soon with your new daughter in law.
I also wrote in my blog not long ago that my wife and I were seeking a permanent address. With the help of my father we have been able to manage this. My brothers were over Mum and Dads place today for Mothers Day, and they shifted some heavy household goods to my wife's and I's new residence, just 10 minutes away from our parents place. I want to thank them too, and although we don't get along all the time, just know you are my brothers, flesh and blood, and I know you don't understand what happens to me, but just know I still appreciate you guys still being there when I need assistance.
To my immediate family, and my new in-laws, thank you for everything, and I promise you guys my wife and I will be the best we can be to support you in times in need and to also just to be there in general. We will keep you updated on our lives as we hope you do as well.
With all our blessings, happy mothers days to all mothers out there, young or old, you are in our thoughts, love Maria and Boxy.
