Mother's Day

Some years my son gives me a present and a card, other years it's just a card, and then sometimes he just forgets

I know he doesn't love me any less and he is 13 - not mature enough to see outside of himself at times. I always get a hug and a kiss and a "Happy Mother's Day" from him.

Because of his age, I wouldn't feel badly if he just completely forgot. As he gets older, I'll probably expect more of an effort - idk - this is new territory for me.

i haven't even received a phone call from my son on mother's day for five years now. it hurts...a lot.

My kids are still way too young to really remember me on Mother's day. I have to remind them but when they get older I'll expect a little more of an effort. Like Spacekat, my kids are 12 and 13 and if you count the baby she's 3 but was adopted out. I still count her but most don't.

How do you deal with the anger and hurt chilvr? I usually try to "suck it up" and minimize it, but it's probably best to let the tears flow and do something physical to deal with the anger
