MOOD SWINGS???

I really hate it when people say, "I think I have Bipolar, I always get mood swings." There is a lot more that comes with Bipolar more than just "mood swings." There is depression, suicidal thoughts, anxiety, Racing thoughts, Feelings of guilt, and a bunch of other things that make me feel like shit 24/7. Saying, "I think I have Bipolar, I always get mood swings," takes away from the real issues of mine and others struggles.

So true- no one truly understands another's struggle unless they have walked the path-- often ignorant people make these comments without truly understanding the disease- but you have joined a peer group that does understand- stick around and welcome to the board ((hugs)) polar

I agree. It can be annoying if you let it. I, personally, have let it become an inside joke. Like, " I know something you don't know". It amuses me anyway. So many things bother me and i can't always choose how to react, but this, I can choose to see lightly.

Yes Bipolar seems to have become a catch all for people and it is offensive ….

I think sometimes people just don't know what they're talking about so they don't 'get it'....
