Congratulations on not being BP. I know you have other problems but maybe they aren't as bad. Maybe it can be treated differently and not be on so may meds.

Diagnosing MI is sort of like taking apart alphabet soup.

I've also heard that anxiety disorders are very treatable. That should be good news.

btw, I have ADD. Getting treated for that def has helped me.

I just found that out too my new pdoc thinks it's PTSD. Hope he's right! Doesn't it suck though to think you were BP all this time?

what i wanna know is why when they upped my zoloft to 100mg a week later i went into a bad anxiety attack and have been stuck in this hell for almost a yr now

Well thank God right? BP is such a hard thing to struggle with. ON the upside, we are bright and creative.

I was misdiagnosed as having anxiety and depression. I spent about 5 years bouncing around from one med to another. After a lot of my own research, I ended up going to an amazing psychiatrist here in Miami thinking that I had ADHD. He diagnosed me bipolar type 2 and ADHD in the first visit. I had no clue about the bipolar type 2. But, he was dead on. As soon as he put me on Lamictal, I was a new person. I stopped going to him due to financial trouble. He doesn't take insurance. I went back recently, desperate, due to manic episodes. Long story! I'm all good again thanks to him. It's important that you trust your psych. If you have even a tiny bit of doubt, get a second opinion. You're worth it!

I'm glad you are sticking around. It sounds like you have founda good pdoc. I agree, trust is important... It took me a while to trust mine. lol. I've got trust issues. :-o

thats just your pdoc guessing..cuz people are just not the same when there under stress...we that are fully dianosed with bp..are beepers..we all were a mask when we leave,,same with your pdoc..he sees you how you are there..

thers a very,very fine line between bipolar and add-- addhd!!! this line is so thin that people that are bp are getting meds for add and its making them fall into a full blown maninc,,same with the flipside...and beepers and adder,s sometimes carry the same symtoms,,the only real way to get propper is a phyclogist..they use entire difft mesures...the shrink goes by how you act and your responces and the (DSM5 MANUAL)!!! MOST OF US JUST KNOW WHAT WE ARE FROM OUR MOODS FROM YEAR TO YEAR..MY PDOC THOUGHT I WAS ADDHD..THEN AFTER SEEING HER A FEW TIMES..IM NOT.. but ur on lamctal and i thought you told me it was helping you?? if you were only and only add or addhd,,lamctal may throw your brain into a over drive state..and brain possiblys brain zaps..like addreal is used for add addhd..no way could a beeper take this!!!! my opiun only,,you need to be on the for sure side..a phycologist all the way,,they also spend more than hust one visit with you,,for your dianoses...
