Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. I've kind of noticed that.... many will say "I was totally born into the wrong era! lol!" and... it's irritating because while 50's 'Americana' and the roaring 40's an uh... tacky 70's? were probably really cool for white teenagers, for everyone else I imagined it would've been suckish (disclaimer: I CANNOT speak on behalf of anyone who actually lived in that time period whether good, bad, or indifferent, so feel free to add your 2 cents here) and I can't help but feel like if I were born 40-50 years ago I'd either be a super patriotic racist or into some sort of drug or miserable, myself (mental health patients weren't exactly treated well either), and I'm not sure which reality is more terrifying.
Also in this day and age, a revolution is taking place, in America at least, but world-wide also. Kind of just thought it was popular internet opinion for a long time considering what a shut-in I am, but outside events seem to confirm it. People are talking more about micro-aggressions, the nitty-gritty of inequality, and people are forced to confront both liberal and radical feminism on the daily whether they care to or not. (bad attention is still attention, ahaaa, it opens a dialogue) Frankly I wouldn't give up being a part of it all for any other life in any other era.
But that brings me to this (and this is where my tangent takes a turn for the woo-woo)- I've noticed some patterns that I'm going to share. The 'millenials' (whatever that means to you, but people who've spent the better part of their lives in the 2000s) appear to overwhelmingly represent bipolarity, bipolarity in a very literal sense at least. I see it everywhere- all-consuming numbness, apathy, indifference, the inability to be impressed by anything, and thus, impressionable- gravitating to one thing and then another, trying to cling to something that will satiate. But the unique thing is that it's over-played by an undercurrent of passion, ambition- having a deep sense of justice and what is right, what is wrong.
I'm not trying to be vague here and the same can be applied to all the young generations who came before. But it just has a different feel to me. Idk, I can't explain it. The 90's were sort of the day and age of the all-American burn-out, everyone was (again, according to my perceptions) exhausted, fed-up, and when the 2000s rolled around, people tried to pick themselves back up, brush themselves off, and polish off some of the grime and slime of prior years' attitudes and trends.
But this time the divide seems ever wider, there are those who take perfection to the extreme, and those who are still tired, evermore frustrated, uneasy. 'Uncomfortable' would be the word. Some restless wave of energy stirs the spirits of those uncertain, unsatisfied, as we move closer to some inevitable truth.
I dunno man. I could go on to talk (ramble tbh) on the subject, but it's something I talked about with V a lot and Marnie and them, before I regarded all spiritual matters as irrelevant bullshit and developed an aversion to hippies and peace nerds. One of our things was that we could all 'sense' 'something big' getting ready to happen. Something we felt all the time but could only inadequately describe. Some vital life force or magnetic field being disrupted, an omen. 'Age of ascention' I say these things but I don't know what they mean anymore.
Does anybody else get 'that feel' though? Comment or message if yeh.

I dont' know so much about racism. I guess that the way people were brought up might indicate training or struggling against the trainings of their day. But yes, millenials and post millenials won't have much trouble with race because everything is so equal now. I tell my son that he can marry anyone of any ethnic group he wants: Afrian American, Roma, Middle Eastern, NDN, Hispanic.........whatever...they are welcome in our home......Of course this is a long way away, but you get the idea.
The world itself is very bipolar acting and it is a world that you all have to navigate. May I say as a mother to a millenial and post millenial......You all do a great job and you have my respect.
