Migraine

According to my neurologist beepers are prone to migraines. I get really awful "Stop the world I want to get off (or please put an ice pick through my brain}" ones. I've been doing well on preventative medications and therapies. I'm down from 3 or 4 a month to 1 or 2 a month, usually one. But the PAIN!!!!!!! Nothing I've been prescribed seems to help with the pain. I had some leftover T3 from a surgery and that seems to work, but I don't know if my neurologist will prescribe codeine for the pain. I think I'd need 3 to 5 T3 tablets a month. I'm not trying to feed an addiction habit or anything. If she says no, does anyone have other suggestions for pain management. What do you take for your migraines.

I take a med called Relpax....it's directly for migraines and works really well for me. Pain killers never did anything for me.

I have had severe headaches all my life. Nothing really helped. Although since taking lithium the frequency and severity are greatly reduced. I use essential oil and if needed excedrine

I started getting them a year or so back. Only when I've been really stressed but I may get a couple in a week, then months of nothing.

I get the psychelic light show overwise I'd just think it was a bad headache because the pain is nothing like as severe as other people's.

The light show is soooo much fun, not. Between nausea, the light show, and super sensitivity to sound I'm pretty miserable. I'm glad you don't suffer too much pain, fish. That's a blessing.

I've never had a migraine, but my husband has had them his whole life and they are VERY debilitating. No migraine Rx has ever worked for him. He heard a webinar about antidepressants and migraines and saw his doc and was prescribed wellbutrin. It seemed to minimize them for two months until he just recently got hit with a very severe migraine again.

I'm sorry you all get them...they are awful.
