Menopause

OK ladies I started drinking daily about a half a year ago and started smoking again over the last month. Finally made a connection that I haven't had a period for a half a year. Duh. Got a call into the doctor and should hear from her on Monday. I am irritable anxious desperate to drink and smoke and my mind races have been like this before but it has been years. Feel like I am getting "fragile"as I call it. Told my husband and daughter what is going on. Forgive my rambling. Could anyone share their experiences? Didn't realize this happens. My psychiatrist had said a few times to me if I can just get me thru menopause...

Hi ladybug. I'm going thru the same thing. I had to do meds adjustment. I can't tell if I'm mood swinging due to bp or menopause. Sometimes I just want to be left alone in perfect silence. I really don't have any advice to share. But it's nice to know you're not alone. So thank you for your post.

Oh,snotty you're struggling right now. Menopause can be really big. One of the worst times of my life because no one clued me in...none of my care providers. So you know, and that's also big, and that alone will help you. I bet there's a forum that addresses that. And I'm happy to talk anytime. I'm post menopause now. May I ask if you were sensitive to certainly monthly shifts when younger?

Mental-pause.... HRT.... The best drug that I was ever put on and it literally works overnight!!... The bomb!.... It works really really well!...Big hug...x

Loved the HRT as well it really helped right away...

Funny taking drugs to treat BPD caused early menopause for me and no one clued me in as SP said...

It was like someone had taken all of my friends a loved ones and held them all hostage someplace.....all I could do was feel loss yet no one was gone!

I wasn't a rapid cycler until I had menopause.....then I was a rapid cycler and joined the "mixed state as a way of life club." There will be times for which you will feel very emotional for no reason at all...the good news is there are many ways of coping that work. Here's hoping you find a multitude!

Now that you mention it May, I was intensely dysphoria then...never thought about that...always blamed it entirely on an ad I was taking. Hmmm.

I had cancer which resulted in a hysterectomy. Overnight menopause. It was awful. It took a few years to get past the worst. I am not allowed HRT

I have just entered "Peri-menopause" at the ripe age of 40. My doctor doesn't want me coming off of my birth control (depoprovera) because she believes it will make this lovely upcoming transition easier. It's been over a year since I had a period (some of that is due to the depo).

I'm hoping if the tides get rough, she'll try HRT instead. We'll see.

I'm in the same boat as you, lady. We'll go through it together!

    Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
