Meds, life or both

I have been off of lithium for a month now and was doing good but the last few days have been hard. I have been feeling down, i am thinknig it is because august will mark one year since i saw my ex. it is a painfull reminder of all the pain he ca,sed me and all the high hopes i had. I am not sure if it is a med problem , the situation or both.

Meds aren't magic - of course your life is going to suck - memories suck, meds - help, they dont' fix us - that is why learning coping skills, to remove triggers is so important....

Lithium will not change your feelings or thoughts!!!! maybe help you have more choices - but the rest is up to us!

Without meds - I have a lot less choices!

Anniversaries can bring up a lot of emotions, no matter what mental state someone is in. Meds may help you with this, or you may find that you want to deal with it without them. It's up to you. But if you think you are slipping down too far, please talk to your doc.

I may just wait and see and if I get worst I can tell my dr. I have a feeling it is just the anniversary that has me feeling thid way. I may talk with a therapist to help me ride this out. I probaly need to keep myself busy with cinstructive things, I have been using coping skills and it does help.

I'm sure it's all part of your life and like anybody else we have to remember we come into this world with no promises or expectations.

I hope your lithium holds you through this difficult time of reflection and going forward. It's ok to look back...but try not to stare to long.

No guarantees again but your tomorrows have yet to be played out...try to find a balance of realism and optimism.

I hate you feeling down no matter the reason. Anniversary dates are hard. You can look back in the past but don't stare. Hope you get back to feeling better soon! HUGS!

I went off all meds a couple years ago and there was a delightful time that I felt fabulous before my world completely crumbled. I was off my meds about 3 months before I got back on them and the result was not fun. I am just now recovering, to be honest, 2 hellish years later. Everyone is different and there is tons of research for not taking psych meds, so I very much hope this is just something related to this painful time that it will hopefully pass quickly for you. For me, and my "system", meds are my only hope for temporary times of "normalcy". But again, that's me and my experience - does not necessarily carry over.

I am taking saphris,Wellbutrin and lexapro so not completely off meds. I went off lithium because of unwanted side effects. I can get through this rough time, I have a good support system.

If I go off my Lithium for more than 3 days I will sink into a severe depression.
Please be careful.
