im sick of labs meds weight problems
Abilify is known to be one of the better antipsychotics in regards to weight gain, though everyone is different & responses are vastly individual and varied.. I didn't gain on Risperdal, I lost weight actually & a lot of people gain on it - I did gain a lot on Seroquel and I know some who didn't gain anything (lucky ducks) it depends on your chemistry..
The small amount of time I was on Abilify I gained 10lbs, but I was swollen because it caused me to retain water. I lost it all immediately once I got off of it. When I was on Seroquel yes it did increase my appetite to crazy amounts - I never felt full & I always felt hungry.. Topamax did help in a way, but seeing how I eat now compared to how I ate thing - wow, you would think by my portion sizes alone I was another person.. no kidding since being off of it weight has just dropped off & I have not been exercising which is not good being it is a massive weight loss& my skin is getting loose :-(
Anyways, to answer your question yes potentially all of them can increase your appetite, also get your blood sugar checked because high blood sugar that is not controlled does cause your appetite to increase. The technical term for it is "hyperphagia" It could be either a side effect from the drug, or something different.
