so im on 80 mg latuda but my doctor might add lithium. is anyone here on lithium? she says it can hurt your kidney and stuff. im doing ok but i feel like the lithium might help or something else with my moods. hmm thoughts?

I was on lithium for a while.

In the UK to get around the possible kidney issues they do a kidney function test before you go on lithium. Then you go on a tiny dose and they check again after something like a week, then they increase it and take another blood sample. I think I ended up having like 6-7 blood samples while I went up on the dose. Then I think there were regular blood tests to monitor.

The thing about lithium is that it's generally regarded that it doesn't work unless you hit a magic figure of concentration in the blood, below that and it doesn't work, above it and it can become toxic.

I’m in kithium and have been for almost two years. It’s done good for the most part managing my moods. I get blood work done every few months to check on my thyroid. When I was I. The hospital a couple of weeks ago they did more blood work and told me I tmhave hypothyroidism probably due to the lithium. I have to take a thyroid hormone now. That being said, any medication has the possibility of giving you long term side effects. I also have a slight tremor from the lithium and I gained a to. If weight on my mood stabilizer. I'm not on Lithium but I wondered if you could give me your opinion of Latuda?..... I may be going onto it?

I was on Lithium many years ago and it didn't seem to do much for me thus my meds were changed
