Hello everyone! My husband suffers from bipolar disorder. He recently changed meds due to changing psychiatrists and something weird is going on. He has been on the meds for three weeks now. For the last two nights he has had extreme restlessness and anxiety. He takes his medicine at 8pm and by 10pm i see the difference in behavior. Its almost like he is drunk. He makes no sense, he cries, and he loses coordination. Its almost like he is fighting the effect of the med right before he goes to sleep. Once he falls asleep he is fine although I notice he snores more and his breathing is a bit weird. I took his pulse while he was asleep and it felt as though it was beating really fast. Anyway, by the morning he is fine but he doesnt remember any of the events of the night before. Im not sure whats going on! The meds he is on are:

Gabapentin for his seizures ( he had a seizure three weeks ago, the docs could not determine the cause although they attributed to his withdrawal from Seroquel and extreme anxiety and also he was vary sick with a viral infection that time so he was extremely dehydrated)

Zitrasidone as his antipsychotic
Zofran for nause and for addiction
Propranolol for Hypertension

Please offer any opinions on what can be going on so that I can take my concerns to his psychiatrist. His next appointment is Saturday. I have already emailed his doctor but I have not gotten a reply yet. Im thinking I just might not give him his meds tonight and see what happens. Like I said these symptoms only last until he falls asleep and then he is fine thru the day. He was on Seroquel for 2 years and did not have this happen however his doctor said that Seroquel was not good for him due to his liver condition. So he changed his meds.
