Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
while I don't think this guy has done anything wrong exactly, he may be feeling smothered by you and that will surely drive him away. He may just need space.
Plus I am female and have platonic guy friends; it's possible. Innocent too.
Have you looked into Dialectal Behavioral therapy? That's supposed to help with these kinds of issues.
In the meantime, distract yourself. Watch tons of movies, go out with friends and DON"T talk about it!
However I still have obsession like feelings and turmoil when it comes to my somewhat new love interest. I can't wait to figure out my shit in counseling. I feel insecure about us, and I feel crazy in the head about not knowing how things are.
..MEN... that is the biggest issue I have. I have a love/hate relationship with them all....starting with my father then due to one or two psychotic assholes that came my way.... WHICH happened because I was manic/psychotic from bipolar disorder. I'll always have it, gotta live with what has happened in the past and learn from it, learn to manage, learn to cope. Become a better person.
it's great that you have painting to keep you busy and to feel good about yourself. Keep doing that!
Let the relationship sort itself out in its own time.
And try to get a book on DBT
And I actually went with a really nice, gentle, decent guy this time. When I was manic for five years in and out of depression and psychosis.... yeah.... abusers found me and took advantage of me. But I am different now. I have baggage, but at least I'm taking medication, going to therapy, and I'm on the right track.
I'm not clear about what you are trying to say here in your message so I don't know how to properly respond 100%. But I know I have issues, I admit that. I haven't called him once since the last time we hung out.... I have texted him a handful of times... since Friday that's it.. just saying hi and checking in. The only part I'm not okay with is getting upset about a conversation that is none of my business.
I do blame myself for what happened with those men which I know I shouldn't. But, this is why I'm in therapy.. to sort out all that stuff.
