Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
It's shoujo (for those that don't know it means it was written for girls) Its romance genre. Just because it's for girls doesn't always make it romance.
The title of this manga is Bird Kiss. It's a slightly old.
You can read it for free on manga.animea.net one of the best free online manga websites I've found.
The storyline is about a selfish self centered girl and the boy next door who loves her. She thinks of him as a dork and he follows her around and obeys all her orders. Finally he decides to confess his love by kissing her in front of the whole school. Naturally she rejects him. He goes on vacation and she doesn't see him for awhile. When he comes back he's grown taller and has a sexy hair cut. He transforms into a prince. But this still doesn't convince her that he isn't a still a dork on the inside.
Eventually the boy gives up and goes on a transformation journey. Will he ever win the heart of the girl he loves? I'm not going to tell you read it and find out!
I think I found one for the guys this time
Hellsing (its a little old but still good)
It's definitely shounen.
A brief summary is that it is about an organization hellsing that deals with dispatching rogue vampires. The main character is Alucard who makes such quotes as "It takes a man to defeat a monster" and " the bird of hermes is my name I eat my wings to keep me tame"
I'll mention Seras Victoria even though I hate her and I'm pretty sure she was only added so men could look at her huge boobs.
Other than that there is integra hellsing who is the leader of the organization.
And my 2nd favorite character is Father anderson. He's the coolest next to alucard.
For those that didn't realize alucard is just dracula spelled back ward and alucard is dracula. There's two arcs to the story First arc leads up to the war and 2nd arc is the war.
There are two anime adaptations the OVA and the other one. The OVA is not completely released yet so don't waist too much time with it. The other version doesn't follow the manga's original story line.
So far Alucard is the coolest vampire I've ever found. He is undefeated and awesome. There is an ongoing prequel that is out but Alucard is a little girl don't ask just read it your self but I doubt you'll understand it.
Rest assured it is shounen.
The first time I tried to read death note I didn't like it, but one day I watched the anime (which you can watch for free on hulu.com) and I fell in love with it. I equally love Light and L.
The anime and the manga are pretty much the same.
the story is about light who finds the death note. Light decides that he's going to use the death note to ride the world of criminals. The world famous detective L vow's that he will catch "kira". Kira is the name the world gives to light once they realize some one is killing off bad guys. I think light started out with good intentions but quickly becomes corrupt and winds up being evil. I already knew how this series was going to end because it clearly hints at it from the beginning but I wont spoil the end. Just know that it will probably piss most people off. I know I was mad even though I already knew what to expect.
I do admit that it isn't all that well written but it is a world famous series and I continue being a huge fan of it. There are two novels written after the comic. One is called "L saves the world" and a movie was made about it. I didn't read the book but I saw the movie.
I did read Death Note another note the los angeles BB murder cases (which is mentioned about once in the series). All in all its a mediocre book at best. But you might enjoy it if you are desperate for more death note. Its a prequel to Death note. Light is mentioned in it but he is not in the book. Also don't expect L to be in it much either. A mistake the author made. The real star is naomi and FBI agent that Light later kills. Even though Naomi is the one who defeats BB, L some how manages to take the credit for it. Messed up I know.
Oh one more last thing I want to mention there is a two part death note movie (its japanese) that has quite a different story from the original series. It goes in the same direction but a whole different sequence of events takes place. Also I'm ticked about the ending and I don't believe that L would have done what he did in the movie. But fans of L will be more happy because the story ends with him. I personally didn't like the movie but it is a refreshing and different twist on the series.
Skip Beat a still on going series with no ending in sight.
It's shoujo and it isn't typical romance. It's a mature version and has many story arcs. Focus is more about growing into adult hood than romance.
The story is about Kyoko who follows her child hood love to tokyo and supports him until he becomes famous. But as soon as sho doesn't need kyoko any more he gives her the boot. But kyoko's reaction to it is rather unexpected. She vows to get revenge by joining show business to beat show to the number one spot. Unfortunatly kyoko is an udner dog who has no natural ability or talent and has no idea how to be famous. That plus add the fact that she is a plain girl. But she relies on her guts to get her into a talent agency. The same agency as show's rival Ren.
Kyoko instantly gets bullied by Ren the leading actor at her agency and number one actor for all of japan. When he learns her true motive is revenge and not the love of acting he quickly makes kyoko a target of interest. But this relation ship quickly develope into friend ship. Eventually kyoko becomes Rens love interest but the feelings are not returned. Kyoko remains rather twisted when it comes to love. Eventually kyoko gets her foot in the door and turns out to have a great deal of potential for becoming a wonderful actress. How ever she is angry because all of her roles are as villians. At some point Sho finds out about kyoko and ren. Even though denies having any feelings for kyoko and insists she is nothing more than a child hood friend he reveals in his actions that he is in love with her. But because Ren is so close to kyoko and gets to spend lots of time with her and has lions share of her attention sho decides the only way he can trump Ren with in kyoko's heart is to keep her hating him at all costs.
As I said this is still an ongoing series with no ending for years to come. It comes out very slowly unfortunately. But I have remained a loyal fan since it first arrived on our shores. I know most votes will go to Ren ending up with kyoko and he certainly deserves it more, but I personally love sho and hope she ends up with him. Sadly sho is hardly even in it and makes rare appearances for certain arcs in the story.
