Today is another gloomy, dark and rainy day here. It got me to thinking about pretty much all my life I've been made to feel that I don't matter.
My parents were busy with stuff and didn't really want to hear about my problems. It was worse at school. I got picked on mercelessly and the teachers didn't care. I remember 1 kid used to tell me he was going to kill me when I was in the 1st grade. This was 1976 before schools cared about bullying. I would tell the teacher's aide what he said because I was scared and she would just laugh at me.
This is continued into my adult life. At jobs I was reminded that I could be replaced. My 1st husband ignored me unless he wanted something. My 2nd husband liked to mommyed so he got sulky if I didn't do what he wanted.
My family did give a lot of attention when I had my big nervious breakdown but some members let me know I was being a burden.
I take care of myself like I was taught and I expect people to do the same. It doesn't mean they do.
It's just sad to be treated that way.
I want you to know that you matter.
Hugs

My parents ignored me - still do - and I've adopted myself into my husband's family because they actually care!
Feeling misunderstood is a terrible feeling - being ignored is even worse. Thank you for writing such a heartfelt post. xoxo
We deserve to be treated with respect.....our lives matter.
All I can say is try not to allow people to ignore you. Stand up for your rights...at some point someone will come around.
