Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Looking into DBT.
Of course there is always my trusty ativan. Mmmmmm ;)
I have lots of trouble with mania, mostly because I really really like the beginning of it. My meds are the only thing I really know of that make me able to cope and not go to high.
For mild mania I pick a big job and a small tool. Cleaning the kitchen floor with a toothbrush kindof thing. It sounds silly, but it's a big job and using a toothbrush makes it more intense and take longer. It can also wear me out physically too which can help me sleep.
Make time to be calm. Force yourself to relax. Yes, pretending to sleep is good- you might find yourself meditating lightly- that's good too.
