Does anyone here take lithium orotate? I'd like to hear testimonies from long term users (2+ years).

I've never tried lithium. I think it is most effective for Bipolar I and I have type II.

It's highly toxic, IMO it should be a last resort. But I know people for whom it is the only medication that helps.

Lithium orotate is "suppliment" synthsied in vats in India and China. It's probably pretty harmless for what it is usaully sold for but it is being (mis) sold for use to treat bipolar.

Bottom line - it's either useless or it's like medical lithium and it is potentially highly toxic - especially as the levels of purity are nothing like that required in medical lithium and theefore you can get wildly differing doses.

Hi iv been on it 5 months I don't see any difference to be honest at first it was great but after a few weeks that's it back to normal

Marie are you talking about lithium orotate that you'd need to buy off the net probably or the lithium you get from your doctor? That would be lithium carbonate.

If you are taking meds not prescribed by your doctor you need to let them know

Many of us have been reading about Lithium Orotate. There are no human trials for bipolar, not much is known, but much is conjectured. I have decided to run an experiment: I am going off of my Lithium Carbonate and going on Lithium Orotate, and I am going to blog the experience. All under careful watch of my drs. If you are interested, you can read it at www.orotateexperiment.com And I'll keep reading the replies here, I'm really very interested in the potential of this.

    Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner.  I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings.  But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!
