Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I was recently diagnosed with bipolar. For years I have had anxiety and panic attacks. These I have been treated for and maintained pretty well until the last couple years. My mom passed away 3 years ago and my panic attacks got worse, I started on and off medications. Things got better , and then about 6 months ago I took a turn for the worst. I have had the worst mood swings and terrible panic attacks. Medications aren't helping and I have been super depressed. That's when they diagnosed me with bipolar. So this is all new to me and I am learning how to cope with my behaviors better.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I have BP also. I know how that diagnosis hits you. It is almost too much to bear. Be gentle with yourself. This condition is treatable. You will learn how to spot the mood changes and how to treat yourself.
Are you seeing a psychiatrist??... They are experts in psych medication
I know that it's hard to be patient and you will find stability but it takes time....
Meds will help however again it will take time to find the right med or regime for you as we're all different
Coping skills will also help such as journal=ling as Thor wrote.... Gratitude... Exercise... Therapy there are a lot of tools that can help us
This is a good board...... We have a treatable disorder so don't lose hope... I started with the same diagnosis as you.... Big hug.....xo
SunCloud, they have been switching my meds and dosages around for about 2 months now. So we will see what happens. Thanks for the support guys
Are you in therapy? That’s a good idea if you are not.
Therapy is good, if you’re able - I use therapy to cope with anxiety and other things in the past and it helps keep everything in check.
Hugs and support your way.
