I hope your new medication cocktail works, Kayla. I have been told that antidepressants are more likely not to work for someone with bipolar disorder than was someone with depression alone. I've experienced that and needed a mood stabilizer on top of the antidepressant for the antidepressant to start working. I'm trying light therapy now but if that doesn't work perhaps an increase in dosage of my Paxil or switching to another antidepressant.
When I'm depressed, I'm also more irritable.

Be prepared to be AMAZING for a week or 2 as you adjust to the Adderall. lol If it hits you like it did me at first, you can accomplish so much or accomplish parts of a wide variety of things (ooo a squirrel! right? lol) - depending on if you can keep focus & 'stay the coarse'.
After that time and you adjust to it, you should end up functioning pretty normally as far energy, clarity, focus.

I can take antidepressents, but just Celexa as far as I can tell. One of the underlying reasons they aren't given to depressed people, I've read, is that it can bring depression levels up in suicidal deep depression high enough for the person to commit the act. That's why suicidal ideation or whatnot is in the precautions.

I don't know how these things work exactly but I know how I feel. Right now I'm being weened off of Latuda and put on Abilify. Latuda didn't work for me but It works for others. Bipolar medication is a trial and error process because the brain is so complicated. Big hugs.

Talk to your doctor about a mood stabilizer instead of an antidepressant. I’m on lamictal for my depression and it’s working very well you have to start with a small dose and work your way up in dosage to when you feel better.
