I am on my second day of lamictal increased to 100 mg. It really isn't much but I am feeling pretty damn good. I have all kinds of good ideas and I have about 6 projects going. Can't get anywhere on them. I keep eating (not really a new thing) but it is worse than usual. I'm eating cause I am really restless and feel just on the verge of crying but not depressed.
Parts of these feelings i have missed. I always kind of liked when I got would up. For me i guess it would be called hypomania because I never landed in jail. Sure I quit jobs, quit relationships and had profound religious experiences but never landed in jail.
The last year or so I have been depressed and none of the antidepressants worked so enter the psychiatrist and the diagnosis and the lamictal.
Ima babbling but hang in there with me please the question is coming...
Is this a normal reaction to lamictal increases? Will it settle down a bit? I like that I am not feeling as depressed but all i want to do is cry and have orgasms and figure out how to make an effing bird's nest for a photo prop. oh ...and the crying part seems to be frustration or excitement...not sadness.

lamictal can trigger mania - you might want to let your psychiatrist know asap

lamictal is a tricky one for me. i run on the manic tilt. makes me hyper. very hyper so on a low low dose. 100mg is max. it did calm down after bout 7 days for me but ya call the doc asap ta make sure.

Feeling a bit more centered. I have the crisis line on - call phone for work and I got a call. Seemed to help to be able to focus that energy on someone else's issue. I have an appointment after work tomorrow so will see how it goes. I have rough weekends on both ends of the spectrum. I guess I need to structure them more. I was trying with the projects but the focus isn't there and that bird;s nest is still vexing me.

I take 200 mg of Lamictal, and does nothing for me.

I think you have to give it a week or so. I like the mania. Being up is the way I wish I was always. I am wound up most of the time no matter what, and they now have me on Lexapro as well as lamactil. Good luck with it. It seems to work for me and I take 100mg.

Oh yeah...the mania is way better than the depression. Of course it is hypomania and not nearly as bad as full on mania. Today was better but I was at work and was able to focus the energy.

I agree with acuriousfish that it's a good idea to check in with your psychiatrist. In my experience, new side effects of medication are "discovered" when patients share their experiences with their doctors. I had an increase in Lamictal a few months ago and it gave me fevers and chills. Turns out my experience was rare but the medical community knew about it because others had reported it in the past.

I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort. I am dealing with the paperwork following my father's death but it's not...

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!
