ShivIT -- I had this problem on a higher dose of lamictal. Talk to your pdoc and see about using lubricant. That's what I did.

BIG WHOPPING YES! I never in my life had a problem with lubrication until I started taking Lamictal..... Stock up on KY or Probe....

Try Astroglide. Its a personal fav.

Thankyou for your humor Wendy. You sound just like my husband. I have been on 400mgs for 6yrs. I have tried KY and Astroglide. They burned the living hell out of me. I went to my OB and he diagnosed me with vaginal exzema. I didn't know there was such a thing. Then the exzema started on my face, arms, and chest.
It didn't dawn on me that it could be the Lamictal until I ran across a disscusion about and another woman had the same problem.
But I would rather deal with these things than insanity.
I tried lowering my dose and spiraled into hell. It was awful.

Now I'll be seriouos Wendy. Has your GP or psychiatrist spoken to you about Stephen Johnson Syndrome, the rash that can come for some people who are on Lamictal? When you mentioned the rash had extended to your face, arms and chest as well as being in your vagina, bells started going off for me. You MUST speak to either one of them about this IMMEDIATELY. I'm not being melodramatic. Your OB may not know about Stephen Johnson Syndrome as it's not a Gyno issue alone - it's a rash that can occur anywhere on the body and it's a very serious health risk sweety. Please seek medical help immediately.

And I do understand your fears about not taking Lamictal, believe me I do. I'm not just shooting this post off to you without understanding the importance of Lamictal. It was either ECT or Lamictal for me by late last year, we went the Lamictal path and it has helped me so much. I too get very scared of not being able to use it. Please tell us how you go.

I have been on Lamictal for 3 years 8 months. I am now on 200 mgs once a day and I've had this problem for the past 2 years. It started out slowly 2 years ago and has become worse in the last year. It's really awful and it has made me very depressed and angry. It burns like hell every time and I am very dry. I have never had this problem in my entire life! My GYN gave me Estrogen cream and I have tried every lubricant out there, and nothing works. I have had terrible dry eye too, which I take Restasis for. I am really hoping that all of this is not from the Lamictal. This is the ONLY medication that I can tolerate and that works for me. Without it, I can not function. The other meds all come with really terrible side effects and they don't work at all for my depression. I have tried every other medication out there and I am deathly afraid of going of Lamictal.

Just want to see if anyone else has had this problem and maybe they found a resolution for it.
