Hi All,
I just had a question for those who have taken, or know about Lamictal. I have been taking it for 5 months and my pdoc. is wanting to up me to 400mg. 2x a day. I seem to be able to concentrate better then ever, doing math in my head with great accuracy and multitasking like a mad man. My problem is here about 2 months ago I realized how fat I am. I kept an average weight of 145 pounds after high school except for during a depressive stage where I weighed 125 pounds. 5 months ago they weighed me when I started the med. and I weighed 169, down from the 190 I weighed while on all the other meds.
My Problem...Now everytime I look in the mirror I look fat. I went from a 33 waist to a 31 and I know I must have lost at least 20 pounds, but won't allow myself to get onto the scale until I look the way I want. The problem is I never think I look any better. Now, if I eat a regular meal I have to barf. I don't stick my finger down my throat or anything, but I feel so stuffed and guilty. I never had a problem like this before and was wondering if this could be a side effect. I'm not going to ask my pdoc. or my med. doc. because they are as worthless as tits on a boar hog.
Any thoughts?

What’s the biggest challenge in your life right now?

Thanks for your input. I just think that at 44 I'm a bit old to start up something new. Of course, what do I know,
Thanks,
Joshuattee
I think it is very important to talk to your pdoc and tdoc about this. If you cant trust them enough to do that than there is no reason to keep seeing them. It is never too late to develope an eating disorder or obsession. If you approach it early on you may conquer it easily. Hugs
I guess I can just barf the pounds away until the side effect lets up!!! Works for me!

well done for losing weight...... I would suggest you eat well and exercise as thats the only real way to lose weight...... not sure where your poor self image is coming from.... but please don't purge food....... thats adding another unhealthy/dangerous thing to what you already have to contend with...
