I'd say that except it seems they also need me for their greatests source of entertainment.
One thing about human nature I noticed is that when I leave the room and go to another room it's not long before others follow me. Now I might have left that room just to get out of some of it's stuffiness but it's not long before I realize that crowd seems to follow me.
But that's not the funniest part of all. Even when I think my kids are deeply engrossed in a movie or some other activity I think bingo now's my chance to do (fill in the blank) play violin. SO I politely go down stairs as not to disturb their watching and next thing I know both of them are down stairs dragging out their instruments as well.
As soon as I get bored and start doing something else, like going into the kitchen to do my nails, every one stops playing and comes into the kitchen. My daughter wanted her nails done and my son dragged out the acrylics and painted the protector to his ipod.
This seems to be a pattern around here for children. Don't ask them if they want to do something cause they never do, just start doing it your self and then they see how much fun it is and want to join in.
Well I'm not complaining. I love my kids and we always have so much fun! I love spending time with them, I just find their antics to be a great source of my entertainment.
BTW my sons ipod cover turned out very nice. He's only 10 but he makes some great art work.

I miss the days when I couldn't even go to the bathroom by myself. Ok .... I'm pretty sure "time's rewritten every line" cuz it truly annoyed me at the time.
I think our daughters have been the greatest source of entertainment for Mr. Baby & I over the last 24 years. I hope they (and future grandbabies) continue that tradition.
Toms~~ you're absolutely right -- dogs and cats fill in for grown kids. The other night our 85-pound Golden Retriever came bounding into our room at 6:00 a.m. and jumped on my face. I don't mind sleeping with the 4-pound Maltese (and Mr. Baby tolerates it too) but the moose on the head was a bit much.
These kids are my life. IF they died I'd probably die right along with them.
THere's just something though about being in a good loving family that is so fun. I don't know if it's nature's design but they just love to do every thing I do and right now I make every thing look cool.
They say that if you fall in love with your kids they fall in love with you right back. That must be true because I love my kids so much. I enjoy the tiime I spend with them very much. We have so much fun we laugh and play! They are like my little mini mes but even if they weren't mini mes I"d still love them. I guess you could say I'm a doting parent.
