if you feel you were released too quickly, and still feel completely overwhelmed, why don't you go back?

i am really scared. what if i need to go there again? ihated it there and i gainred weight when i was there. what if i need to drive myself there in the pouring rain? its an hour away

maybe talking to my sister triggered this. idk. i just wrote all about it on this blog and now this

If you're doing really badly, is there someone you can trust to call and talk to until you calm down and aren't scared anymore? I know those people are few and far between, but I have my mom and best friend and maybe you have someone? Or could you call a crisis hotline? I'm so sorry things are so hard. For what it's worth, I just said a prayer for you. Be safe and know we all care about you!

thank you so much. that's exactly what i needed. I finally forced myself to take a couple ativan to calm down, prior I was afraid to when i was in crisis. I called me Dad. My heart is over flowing. He calmed me down and made me smile like a daddy's little girl. this is why i forgave him whole heartedly after everything he's done. he is a great man and I'm so filled up with love now after talking to him. The ativan helped. I might still go to the hospital tomorrow and that's okay. He told me to say a prayer and get some sleep. Goodnight.

My experience is that there's always a lot of anxiety at the time of release. The anxiety comes from hope that things will be ok and fear that it won't be. So I'd say that you're showing some normality there. It sounds like you're doing the best you can to keep things under control. It'd be good to talk to your doc. Trust yourself, you can do this.

When I got out of the psych ward, I was a mess. Anxious, couldn't sleep, restless. I think that place adds to it. You are basically treated like an incompetent criminal and are watched every minute. It is awful being in those wards. But remind yourself that you have made it this far and can get through this. Some anxiety after being released is totally normal. But you will get thru! Hugs!

Its always worse coming out of the hospital (for me) it feels scary. Hang in there, this too shall pass. :)

I hated the hosptial and never felt "better" after coming out.
Do you have a good psychiatrist you can talk to??

I left the hospital in the middle of a major panic attack full of delusional thoughts. I couldn't handle the place any more and had appeared to be OK so they fell for it.

I was almost caught before my wife got me but I lucked out.

After some real rest I did much better. Hope you do OK also.

Even though I hated those places I always felt safer there. When I would get out I always felt like I needed to go back in until my med change or whatever took over. I'm glad you were able to talk to your dad and you feel better now. It's always good to have someone like that to help out.

I don't think you & your mom should be adjusting dosage hospital gave you...or when you take it.

I agree, never second guess your pdoc.

I HATE HOSPITALS I HAVE NEVER BEEN AND RUN AWAY FROM THE IDEA.... GO SEE YOUR PSYCHIATRIST STAT AND GET A PSYCHOLOGIST.... I DONT KNOW WHY ALL THE PILLS FOR BIPOLAR MAKE US GAIN WEIGHT!!!!! WHATS THE DEAL WITH THAT?
