Coming home from the lab this morning, there were huge, black, thunderclouds on one side of the sky and blue sky and puffy white clouds behind me. As I was driving towards the storm clouds I had the weirdest feeling that they were there due to a supernatural force working to unleash something on the region where I live. I didn't know if it was God or something unearthly. It felt more foreign and I felt a tiny bit of fear start to gnaw at the back of my mind. The more I had to look at the storm clouds, (driving in that direction) the more the thought started to become a belief, even though I was trying to talk sense to myself. Finally I turned out of the line of sight and arrived home. I still feel a little weirded-out by the experience. What was that? Can one experience something on the order of being on the edge of a delusion or on the edge of psychosis? Have any of you had something like that happen. I'd really appreciate anything you can tell me. Thanks for listening.

Mom and I have errands to run this morning. She said we can get sushi for lunch though. I go back to work today. What are you looking forward to this weekend?

Quick, before the evil MONday gets here! Let's climb those mountains, dance in the meadows, dip our feet in the ocean....Okay, so most of us won't be doing any of That. Sadly. But today can still be a great day!The area behind our back fence is on an incline, with less than two feet on even ground at the top. I don't balance well enough for the incline, but our mower guy mows that...

I think both acuriousfish and Tommy have answered quite well.
I also believe it might be something beyond what we can understand
(((((Hugs)))))
Tommy, what you say sounds right. I didn't have psychosis, but was leaning and possibly drifting near it. I'm sorry you have had to experience full blown psychosis. I can't imagine how frightening that is. Thanks for your sharing.
dancingd, thanks for your insight. Yes, something beyond what we can understand has happened to me in the form of premonitions -- a sense or warning that something wasn't right, even dangerous. Then in the course of days, things unravelled and the premonition made sense. And I had been forewarned so I wasn't totally taken by surprise and immobilized by fear. Very interesting. Thanks so much.
Sensitive, sorry you have to experience this too. Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone. It's weird, isn't it? Ha, ha, I don't tell my husband these strange things anymore if they are just vague like this morning. When I actually see shadow people, or heads in the clouds, etc, then I tell him. Our poor hubbies. :-) Thanks and hugs to you.
Hugs to all of you. I appreciate your input, truly.
What you saw was real, its your interpretation of what you saw to me that sounds troubling.
Definitely is possible to be on the edge of delusion, been there many times before I actually fell into a complete false reality where my delusions became real to me and no one else and medical intervention was required.
Be careful not to flirt with it, and if it persists see a pdoc ASAP.
One morning I was going to work like I regularly did down the main express way, when all of the sudden I lost focus on the road and swerved a bit. I continued on but tears fell down as I realised I had no recollection how I got there, all I knew is that I was going to work.
Questions like, how did I get to this point, where have I been, was I "taken"...it was very strange. This was 4 months before my first hospitalisation when I was 25.
Good that came on a talked about it. You can talk to your doc about it but really if your not in this state a lot it's best to understand that this is something you have to believe in or take seriously. This kind of thinking can be helped so much with some therapy. So many get put on extra meds when talking about these issues can help you understand and let go of these types of scenarios. Now if your having them constantly I can see extra meds being needed.
