I am so tired of being druged up and still not feeling good. I want to know if anyone knows of any other way of treating bipolar than meds? Something that actually works!

Well, when I was very 'doped' on meds (like a Zombie)..I got opinion of another psychiatrist (an excellent med specialist) & he reviewed my meds...made some crucial changes. Really helped..don't feel 'drugged' any more. Worth trying.

I agree with Lou as well. Unfortunately meds really seem to be the only solution. The key is finding a combination that work for you-which is very trying, expensive, and can take a long time. But truly it's the only way. Even as I write this I'm adjusting my meds, but I have faith that I'll find a cocktail of them that works.

I got tardive dyskenisia from Abilify---it's permanent neurological damage and sucks rancid pond water---so I changed psychiatrists, went off all meds, and got a new diagnosis. (PTSD)

The best part is the return of libido. I personally recommend (I am not a doctor but play one at public podiums) medical marijuana, margaritas on the rocks with salt, and good sex---that's my DAILY STRENGTH.

I have an incredibly supportive and hard-working husband, so I can't recommend this course of action unless you have an attentive spouse, a phenomenal lover, a hot tub and sauna, and a blissful abode.

Otherwise, I had a good time at Cottage Hospital emergency today---long story---and am still crazy, after all these years.

i take empower plus and have been med free since august. its not an easy solution it takes work as the withdrawal is horrendous. but my days are now 50% brighter and getting better each day. pls no zombie brain fog.

they just got their Natural product number in canada and are working toward getting it on store shelves. as well as getting it recognized by the medical community so dr.s can prescribe it and it be covered under a drug plan.

they really encourage you to have a dr and or a pdoc monitor you but they also have a support staff for extra support and in case you dont have a doc on your side.
