Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I know this is so much easier said than done. When I feel like this I want to punch a hole in the wall, hurt myself, scream at people. I usually take some time to step back and try to focus. It takes alot of energy sweetie. This time, it helped alot to take more of my ativan during the day and avoid alot of "busy" places. Heck, I am even afraid to drive when I am dysphoric.
Others don't always understand and your friend would probably be hurt if you didnt go. Maybe you could tell her you are struggling alot but you really want to try to go for a while, set a time limit. At least then she knows you care. I think most times people think we just don't care when actually we are trying to protect them from our wrath.
You can do this, use your thoughts to help you through and try to focus on breathing when you begin to feel too agitated. Even if you have to take a step back or walk outside for a minute, give yourself the space.
Wishing you the best...............I know you can do it....xo
Anxiety medication is a must for me, I take Klonopin. I also agree that it's good for you to go and possibly communicate with your friend you're having a difficult time.
