Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

at the time I was going through much change and menopause and all added up to a bit of a breakdown...too much going on and I felt totally lost. It became a self fulfilling situation. If I come off meds and go whacko at least Ill know...but if I don't then I will save my body and my spirit from unnecessary intervention. PS my sleep is better last night got about 6-7 hours yay!
I must say in fairness that I had a period of intractable depression over several months and prozac did help me throw it off, though can I be sure it wasn't the placebo effect as I was desperate to be well? if I go lala then Ill let you know-but meanwhile I am excited to have my brain back-and i am regaining interests I lost 8 years ago....
I don't think our medications are poisons any more than other things in our food, environment etc.
Do you have evidence for what you say?
My feeling is that any extreme view is dangerous - yours sound very close to that espoused by the Scientologists.
I am not a Scientologist - I have read about the medicalising of natural human emotions and I have made up my mind to try a different paradigm. Anyway people can do what they want with their own treatments and I want to try this. If I turn out to be wrong sobeit, I am not suggesting anyone else follow this track.
