Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

:)
Why, because the whole autism thing got associated with this and as someone who is step father to two what would have been termed "indigo children" it might comfort for a milisecond us in what all of us are going through until we realise it's just not true.
From a scientic perspective it is also complete rubbish throughout, from the basic "science" and "evolution" right up to the claims of possession of paranormal abilities.
It proves that not everything from the 70s was cool and the only benefit of the "theory" was that it made a bunch of charlatans a bunch of money, but did nothing for the kids or parents.
Satan, your Kingdom must come down!
Perhaps another response could be, "emjae, even if it were so, it is not likely we should embrace it 'instead' of bipolar meds and treatment, because it is just too Overwhelming, and potentially self - destructive, to function without help.
I'm going to be mostly offline for a week or so, but I'll message you later, emjae. :)
"With love from a bipolar indigo child"
The context of my reply was from someone who is on the autism spectrum who has two autistic sons.
As such I see it as a racket that made money out of parents of autistic children desperate to find some help but finally offering nothing at all.
Overall the amount of exploitation, misinformation and plain hatred against the autistic population dwarfs anything the bipolar community has experienced. Did you know that there is an organisation that has been helping people deny parenting rights to people that are on the spectrum?
So with that background and being aflicted myself gave rise to the force of my reply.
However I still have a couple of very good, sweet friends who are believers (and indigos themselves). I've been told I'm an indigo child. I think it's true, but I'm careful with who I discuss this stuff with because as previously mentioned, the cult-like dedication of most "out of the closet" believers turns me off from talking to them, and it's also a trademark that they don't really know what they're talking about, but rather rehearsing a script.
In a nutshell, yea, but I'm in the closet about it because I prefer pragmatic company.
So... I mean yea.
But I have a couple friends still who are indigos, but not dismissive of my mental illnesses or their own.
