This has me reminiscing about friendships that have come and gone. Is that what it's about? A particular person maybe or just in general? I'm thinking at this moment of a friendship in particular. For me it was painful b/c she walked away because of my illness, I'm sure of it.

Yes she saw what I went through during romantic relationships, how men would get a whiff of my loneliness and leave.
Instead of her standing by me like she promised she left just the same.
I'm tired of loosing loved ones to this illness it's not an easy burden to bare!

I feel you, too, Texas. I hate being alone. My only friend (my husband's friend) sees me every couple weeks or so and I always feel like I'm her pity charity - that she only comes to see me because I'm a wreck a lot of the time. But I really like her so part of me just doesn't care. I've lost all my other friends long ago.

I lost my very best friend too during my first mania. She should've known that something was wrong and I wasn't acting like myself. She had known me for 25 yrs. and I was always rational. But...it hurts but I guess she wasn't the person I thought she was either. It's been 8 yrs. and still stings a bit sometimes. HUGS!!

I lost my best friend because of my illness also. It hurt at the time, but I figured she wasn't much of a friend if she couldn't stand by me in the bad as well as the good.
