Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I'm a 17 year old girl, and ever since I could remember I've been having depressive episodes. One minute I'm very very depressed and have many suicidal thoughts. I often find myself thinking about different ways I could do it. Then the next second im really really happy. Sometimes I go days without leaving my room. I sleep all the time and I have a hard time getting out of bed. Then out of nowhere I get really happy, I start trying to be social and have burst of energy. But like I get depressed and it starts all over. My emotions are all scrambled right now. & I'm really confused. I looked up the symptoms of bipolar disorder and I have majority of them. I just don't know what to do because my parents don't believe in getting help for this sort of thing. I just feel lost and I kinda have no hope at this point.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

The only way forward is to see a doctor, you may need a physical doctor first to rule out some of the physical things that cause these kinds of mood swings and if nothing is found to explain it, then move on to a psychiatrist. It's obviously something and even if the mood swings are deemed to be "normal" then the depression needs treating.
I agree with fish I would make an appt to see your family doctor to start with or even talk with a support adult at school... a school nurse or a teacher that you trust.... I will put up crisis lines for you to call as well.....
What you are going through now are symptoms that there is treatment for
Please know that whatever you may be dealing with there is help and good help for you.... There's treatment and tools to help you find stability ... .Another hug....xo

My parents were very anti mental health, but theirs was a money concern (and it also occurred in the age without internet to look everything up!). Do you know why your parents object? It might help to come up with a list of everything they may say and all your counter objections. If it's religious, you could ask a religious figurehead to talk with them. For money, you could look up your insurance plan and what's covered.
