I think I am bipolar 1

I was never formally diagnosed as bipolar. My symptoms point to bipolar though according to my pdoc. I am not sure what type though. My manic states last a few weeks and got more dangerous as time past. I basically got to a point of meeting strange men for sex. That is how I wound up in the hospital. My depressed also lasted a few weeks. I am a cutter and never like doing anything. What type does this sound like?

Not quite enough info .

Besides , it takes a qualified psychiatrist to make an evaluation on a DX of BP...much less defining BP I or BP II

I don't worry about all that - my meds are personal to my symptoms - not the weekly flavor of this pdoc or that.... imho

I had racing thoughts and could not sleep most nights for years. My meds are working wonderfully and I am very thankful for that/ I just wanted an opinion.

I'm diagnosed BPI, well, manic depressive. Before I got stabilized on lithium my manias would last for months. I always recommend getting a diagnosis from a pdoc, and that's my opinion.

BP 2 has hypomania..... BP 1 has full blown mania

Yeah I am going to ask the dr when I go back and see what he says. I just want to know once and for all.

Mania , racing thoughts , risky sex.

Sounds BP I

But some people experience hypo-mania and think it's mania .

Mania is the hallmark of BP I

Yeah it was pretty bad for me when I was manic. I almost got myself kicked out of the house. Lots of screaming and yelling between me and my dad. Just horrible.

    Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
