I finally got an apartment for my son in me. It's federally subsidized so the rent depends on your income. I was susposed to start working at my old job after Easter. I had to turn it down because the woman at the apartment said to hold off on getting a job.
I think God has been telling me he doesn't want me to work outside the home for a long time now. The drive to my old job was much longer than where I am now. You can't serve two masters. I just want some validation that I made the right decision.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

As for working, yes rent I think is based on 30% of your income so it would be more. I guess you would need to figure out how much you'd make and if you could handle paying that larger amount through the process of change over if you didn't work.
Maybe talk to someone who runs the apartment to find out what would happen if you worked, then got laid off...'laid off' just so you don't have to tell them your business.
It's hard to reach acceptance of 'what is' compared to what we might 'want'.
Best to you!!!
You were going to get your son on SSI as well weren't you? If he can get into a program that would help him get a job so much the better!
John has been in his apartment for one week Amen!!! what a Relief!!! His room mate is 33 and also on spectrum.
I'm working Hard to be a soft place to land and let him find his own way...not easy!!!...LOL....I'm giving him a month to get his feet back under him :) then will bring up driver education....he wants it....just hard for him to take the steps.
If son earns more money, will that affect your rent because he is living in the apartment with you?
